James Blunt 於2005年推出這首
描述單方面暗戀的〈You’re beautiful〉
一開始，Blunt在訪談節目[The Oprah Winfrey Show]中
是如此浪漫的描述這首歌的創作靈感:
“It’s kind of miserable.
It was about seeing my ex-girlfriend on the Underground in London
with her new man, who I didn’t know existed.
She and I caught eyes and lived a lifetime in that moment,
but didn’t do anything about it and haven’t seen each other since.”
「這個故事其實蠻悲情的。
歌詞是關於有一次，我在倫敦的地鐵上遇見我前女友
她和新男友在一起，我那時根本不知道有這個[男友]的存在。
我和她對到了眼，那個瞬間，時間彷彿停止了一世紀那麼久。
不過，我們之後並沒有因此而聯絡，也從此沒再見過彼此。」
一切聽起來都那麼浪漫、那麼令人揪心對不對?

讓我們接著來看11年後的2017年
Blunt在[Huffington Post]的採訪中
再次被問到〈You’re beautiful〉時
一個令人噴飯的360度大改口:
“You’re Beautiful’ is not this soft romantic fucking song.
It’s about a guy who’s high as a fucking kite on drugs
in the subway stalking someone else’s girlfriend
when that guy is there in front of him, and he should be locked up
or put in prison for being some kind of perv.”
「〈You’re beautiful〉才不是什麼浪漫抒情歌
歌詞是在說一個男的，嗑藥嗑到跟風箏一樣嗨
然後在地鐵裡跟蹤別人的女朋友，即便她男朋友就站在旁邊
這個變態應該要被抓起來、或關進牢裡的。」
